Stone Glossary

Imagine a building product that took millions of years to create, has been used since the beginning of recorded history, and has an appearance that is impossible to imitate.  Natural stone has come to symbolize style, prestige, and a respect for history that is all too often missing in the modern world.  Its appeal has endured for ages and will continue long into the future.  At Select Stone we have a passion not only for the appearance of natural stone but also for the human and geological history that it represents.

Select Stone's products come from throughout the United States as well as from Europe and Asia.  Most of these stones are presently being quarried, although some are reclaimed from the ruins of old buildings and pavements.  Our unparalleled knowledge of natural stone allows us to assist our clients in all aspects of their stone projects.  We hope you find this web site interesting as well as useful in selecting stones for building projects.
