Granites, Gneisses, and Quartzites

The profile of Crazy Horse slowly emerging from granite in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Granite, gneiss (pronounced "nice"), and quartzite are crystalline igneous and metamorphic rocks. Although they vary greatly in appearance, they are generally the hardest and most durable of masonry stones.

A gray to black banded granite (technically a gneiss) that is chopped into rough squares and rectangles.



Northstar Northstar Granite
A reddish brown weathered granite in irregular shapes.

A multi-colored granite that is chopped into rough squares and rectangles.

A weathered granite available in a range of sizes.
